SITE SAFETY CONTROL
GPA has always considered health and safety conditions a fundamental
factor that must be preserved among its
employees and promoted in the provision of the
company services.
Therefore G.P.A upholds Safety as a
fundamental value that must always be compulsory
in all activities in construction sites, thus
safeguarding the health and safety of all
workers, suppliers involved and all people
affected by the construction works and future
users of the real-estate.
In light off the above stated the Safety
Policy is then defined as follows:
- Compliance with prevailing legislation
namely Directive n.º 92/57/CEE, also known
as the Construction Sites Directive, that
was transposed to Portuguese domestic
legislation by Decree-Law n.º 273/03 of
October 29.
- Promotion of Safety as a fundamental
element for the good execution of the works.
- Information to all parties involved in
the works about their role in encouraging
their personnel to enforce and comply with
the safety measures proposed and defined in
the Health and Safety Plan approved by the
Job Owner.
- Encouraging the active participation off
all individuals whether in reporting all
unsafe situations or/and proposing safety
measures for continuous improvement in
safety conditions on site.
By the elaboration of Health and Safety Plans
and by providing the services of Site Safety
Control, GPA has progressively built a vast
know-how in this field.
